A plane landing in Phoenix airport. I was pretty happy about getting this picture while still driving!

I guess you could call it a horseless carriage: I also liked the color of the truck, which was similar to the Bianchi bike color. I missed the picture from the side window, so here’s my attempt through the rear view mirror: I’m about 50 miles outside of Phoenix, AZ at this point.

There were tons of cacti in Arizona, and they look exactly how you’d imagine them from the movies. Except I didn’t expect a whole field of them.

Cool rock formations and mountains in Arizona. The sky came out really blue in some of these photos.

Totally open road! Must resist temptation to speed… This was more a practice shot (practicing holding the camera steady). I found that the key is to prepare for the shot when nearing the top of a hill, because going downhill gave the best pictures.

Look at those clouds! Still in CA, almost in AZ…

Desert Center on I-10, in CA almost to AZ. I was hoping to get some gas here (the road sign said that this was a gas stop), but when I got there it was completely empty. Nothing seemed open, and there were abandoned vehicles lying around like this train car: There was also this cafe, but I didn’t go in.
