Little Rock Central High School
Little Rock Central High School is famous for being the high school that was the first to desegregate, in a showdown between President Eisenhower and Governor Orval Faubus.

This place is like a castle. I’ve never seen a high school as massive or ornately decorated as this.

They even have a reflecting pool! My high school didn’t even have an independent swimming pool (we had a pool, but it was hidden under the basketball court).

The visitor center, across the street, has a nice little exhibit about the history of the integration crisis.

They’ve also preserved the original gas station from across the street. I initially thought that this was a real gas station, and I needed gas at the time. That’s probably why they set up the blocking posts around it.
